Gregg Schuyler, MD, PhD, FACC joined the Heart Institute of Florida in 2000. He is a native Floridian, born in Miami Beach. He received his undergraduate degree from William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. then attended the University of Kansas Medical Center where he obtained his medical degree and Ph.D. degrees. His Ph.D. research involved cardiac genetic changes during stress and aging. Dr. Schuyler received his internship and residency training in internal medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. He then continued there in a clinical investigator pathway obtaining his cardiology fellowship training and post-doctoral research training in molecular genetics of cardiac hypertrophy. He also obtained advanced echo training describing diastolic properties in trans-genetic mice and in mitral valve repair in humans. He is board certified in cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Schuyler is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, the American Heart Association and the American Society of Echocardiography. He has authored numerous publications, abstracts and presentations. Dr. Schuyler lives in St. Petersburg with his wife, Wendy, and their 3 children. His interests include advanced echocardiographics techniques, nuclear stress testing, general cardiology care and applications of computer in medicine. He has many copyrighted software programs which aid cardiologists in managing their practice. He manages the website you are viewing.
