Northside Hospital Launches State-of-the-Art Interventional Neuroradiology Program For Better Brain Care

St. Petersburg, FL -- (December 23, 2009) – Northside Hospital & Tampa Bay Heart Institute has launched its Interventional Neuroradiology program, which will be a part of the facility’s new Neuroscience Institute. Led by Nasser Razack, M.D., who is fellowship trained in interventional neuroradiology and has been providing interventional neuroradiology services to patients since 2001, this program will offer patients comprehensive treatment for stroke and aneurysms. Dr. Razack is one of only two providers of Interventional Neuroradiology in Pinellas County.

Tampa Bay Heart Institute Utilizes 12-Lead EKG for Cardiac Patients

St. Petersburg, FL -- (December 21, 2009) – Tampa Bay Heart Institute at Northside Hospital and Largo Medical Center is now working in conjunction with Sunstar EMS to utilize a pre-hospital 12-lead EKG transmission improve patient outcome related to STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction) times. A STEMI time is the time from the moment you arrive at the hospital emergency room with a heart attack to the time that blood flow to and from the heart is reestablished.
