Northside Hospital Hosts Free Community Heart Health Event
January 31, 2011
The Tampa Bay Heart Institute at Northside Hospital will be hosting a Heart Health Open House at the hospital on Saturday, February 5, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This event is free to the community.
The event will feature various activities to increase cardiac health awareness, such as free screenings, healthy meal planning, and educational seminars. There will also be tours of the hospital, including the cardiac catheterization lab and the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation area.
Open to people of all ages, this event is targeted at not only those at immediate risk for heart problems, but also middle-aged individuals who may have certain risk factors which put them in a moderate-risk category. For those with younger children, we will also have a children’s activity area, featuring a bounce house, as well as emergency response vehicles for a hands-on learning experience. Free healthy snacks will also be provided.
The event will be held on the hospital campus, 6000 49th Street North, on the West side of the street, between 62nd Avenue and 54th Avenue.
